Statement of Ksaem Ksan Association
United in the quest for justice, social harmony, a culture of peace and spiritual healing
1- History of the Association
The Association of Victims of Democratic Kampuchea (Ksaem Ksan), or the Ksaem Ksan Association for short, is one of the first Victims Associations in Cambodia. Ksaem Ksan Association was created to give a unified and strong voice to the victims. The idea of creating the Association emerged when the ECCC on August 27 decided without notice that ....
Objective
- Participate in all stages of ECCC process in the name of association’s member
- Provide members opportunity to express their joint willing such as to ECCC
- Spiritual and material support of each other when they meet difficulty situation
- Improve living level of members
- Outreach to new generation to understand better on the history happened during the democratic Kampuchea regime in order to prevent the rebirth of the regime
- Combined relevant history of Democratic Kampuchea for sharing to new generation
- Coordinate for reconciliation in order to improve peace in community
- claim the justice for victims
Vision
- The Association has a vision of leadership of being the conscience of enhancing the rights of victims. The Association shall endeavor to play leadership role by pursuing with Kampuchea victims reparation programs, social fund, psychological and material support, social harmony, reconciliation, justice, culture of peace.
Mission
- Provide legal service such as complaints completion, finding of probono lawyer for victims under the jurisdiction of ECCC
- Monitor the ECCC’s proceeding and verdict enforcement
- Training, publication and production of film related to Kampuchea Democratic victims
- Organizing workshop, training and public forum
- Professional training and organizing for job creation to members in accordance their specialization in order to enhance member’s living
- Endeavor to increase membership upon real case
- Represent members in accordance law and regulation
